As an assistant pastry chef, you assist in the day-to-day operations of a bakery or pastry kitchen. You collaborate with the head baker on daily tasks and schedules and oversee other pastry chefs or kitchen staff in the absence of the head pastry chef.

1. Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role 2. Great attention to detail and creativity 3. Organizing and leadership skills 4. Willingness to replenish professional knowledge 5. Willingness to replenish professional knowledge 6. In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition 7. Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.) 8. Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field
