Job Summary
ASTRA is looking for an experienced metallurgist to take on multiple challenges in characterization and processing of materials: primarily steel, with occasional work on other metals. The ideal candidate has experience with heat treatment of high-strength steels, knowledge of steel properties at the macro and micro-scale, understanding of design of experiments (DoE), and is adept at designing fixtures, and defining quality techniques and processes. The Metallurgist will be responsible for evaluating, recommending, and specifying materials for high performance and high reliability in dynamic energy storage systems.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Perform analysis with complex matrices and operate analytical instruments such as SEM/EDX, Potentiodynamic Corrosion, XRD, XRF etc.
• Perform failure analysis and microstructure/metallography analysis by optical microscope.
• Analyze data from laboratory for corrosion study.
• Prepare comprehensive analysis reports and participate in creating research project proposal.
• Able to set-up instruments and equipment.
• Provide technical sales consultations to clients.
• Reviews production and operating reports to ensure efficient operations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Any support related to the position as assigned by Directors
